Sylvester Moore
Mr. Sylvester Moore, 53, of Burke County, Georgia, entered into rest Saturday, September 2, 2006.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 9 at Noah's Ark Missionary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Georgia. Interment followed at Ways Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Moore was the son of the late Martin Moore, Sr. and Ruby Lee Jordan Moore. He was a native of Burke County and a member of Ways Grove Baptist Church. He was a 1971 graduate of Waynesboro High School where he was an outstanding football player. He furthered his education from Augusta Technical School studying electrician and was owner and CEO or Moore Farm Services.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Regenia Harrison Moore of Keysville; four children, Sybasterian Jones of Burke, Co., Erica (Raymond) Crandell of Atlanta, Ga., Sheldon Robinson of Milledgeville, Ga. and Andrequez Moore of Wrens, Ga.; one stepdaughter, Yalencia Harrison of Keysville; four grandchildren, his siblings, Sallye M. Hightower, Dr.
Gladys M. Twyman, Barbara (Phillip) Oliver and Carnell (Shirley) Moore, all of Atlanta, Martin (Ruth) Moore, Jr., Linzie (Frances) Moore of Gough, Wilbert (Betty) Moore of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Bartha (Catherine) Moore of Savannah, and Willie Lee (Annie Ruth) Moore of Hephzibah; his mother-in-law, Gladys Jones Harrison of Lincolnton; sisters-in-law, Rebecca (Gregory) Zellars of Lincolnton, Alinda Faye Harrison of Augusta, Eugenia Harrison of Sparta and Stephanie H. (Kenneth) Dyer of Albany; one aunt, Mildred Gates of Flint, Michigan; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Jerome Jones, Gain Johnson, Lucious Abrams, Jonas Wells, George Evans, Henry Williams, Tommy Session, Anthony Thompson, Gregory Zellars, Carl Elam, Albert Sims and Jerome McLaughlin. Honorary pallbearers were Waynesboro High School Class of 1971 members and officers of Ways Grove Baptist Church.
Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
