The Lincoln County High School debate team kicked off its 2006-07 season by bringing home six awards from the McIntosh County Academy Sandgnat Tournament on Saturday, September 9.

Three LCHS policy teams competed in the tournament's open division, with the team of Amy Dandron/Abigail Minor finishing third. The team of Kitty Ball/Kayla Crookham finished sixth, and the team of T. J. Carani/Nikolas Spens finished seventh.

Speaker awards went to Kayla Crookham (third), Abigail Minor (fifth), Kitty Ball (seventh), Amy Dandron (ninth), and Nikolas Spens (tenth). This was Nik's first policy debate tournament ever, and his placement among experienced debaters is a particularly strong accomplishment.
