Applications available for Miss LC Pageant
     Applications are now available at the Welcome Center for the 2006 Junior Miss and Miss Lincoln County Pageant. The pageant is open to young ladies in the Lincolnton-Lincoln County area who are currently in the sixth grade to 20 years of age. Application deadline is Fri., Oct. 6, 5:00 p.m.

Savannah district implements new drought management plan
     The commander of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District, approved a new drought management plan governing Lakes Thurmond, Russell and Hartwell on the Savannah River. This culminates a review that began at the end of the last drought in 2002.

Ga. State Patrol investigates one accident here
     State troopers from the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated one traffic crash during the month of August in Lincoln County. Sergeant First Class Durden said the traffic crash resulted in no injuries.
