TIA Helping Hand

The original Clothes Closet, located on Firetower Rd., has reopened, now as T.I.A. Community Helping Hand. All proceeds will go toward the Lincoln County Food Pantry and emergency needs of the community, 50/50.

ACS offers RtoR prog.

The American Cancer Society now offers its Road to Recovery program to cancer patients in Lincoln County who need transportation to and from their treatments, free of charge. Drivers are trained society volunteers who pick up patients at their homes, take them to their treatment and drive them back home.

Classic Re-Runs

Classic Re-Runs is a non profit clothes shop specializing in good quality, lightly worn clothes for all sizes. They also have household items, dishes, and what-knots. All money is used exclusively for people with a medical emergency in Lincoln County. Donations are tax deductible.

Classic Re-Runs is located at 108 Main Street, next door to China One. Stop by to check out their half-price sales and specials that change weekly.

Tax Assessors meetings

The Lincoln County Board of Tax Assessors regular meetings for 2006 will be: Sept. 19; Oct. 17; Nov. 21; and Dec. 19.

The meetings will start at 4 p.m. in the Lincoln County Courtroom.

GED/Adult classes

Self defense class

Dinner plate fundraiser

members are gearing up for another great year. Their first fundraiser will be selling dinner plates on Thurs., Sept. 21 and may be picked up at the LCHS cafeteria between 3:30 6:30 p.m.

Plates will cost $7 each and you may choose from either meatloaf, lasagna, teriyaki chicken or vegetable marinara with all the trimmings.

The deadline to purchase tickets is Wed., Sept. 20 before 3 p.m. and may be bought from any debate member or from Mrs. Lee Robinson at the high school.

Zoning meetings

The Lincoln County Planning & Zoning Board meetings for 2006 are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on the following dates in the Commis-sioner's Conference Room on the first floor of the Lincoln County Courthouse: Mon., Sept. 11; Mon., Oct. 9; Mon., Nov. 6; and Mon., Dec. 4.

Pastor appreciation

Unity celebration

The 10th District Women's Auxiliary of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc., will observe the second annual mission day unity celebration on Sat., Sept. 30, 2:30 p.m. at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1714 Olive Road, Augusta, Ga.

Youth 4 Christ

The fall retesting for the graduation

Fall retesting

test will be held according to the following schedule: Mon., Sept. 11 language arts; Tues., Sept. 12 math; Wed., Sept. 13 social studies; Thurs., Sept. 14 science.

All tests will begin promptly at 8:15 each morning. Students and others who have not passed all parts of the graduation test are urged to participate in the testing.
