Qualifying for candidates to fill the unexpired term of Marcy Remsen on the Lincoln County Board of Education was held Wednesday, August 9, through Friday, August 11.

According to Kelvin Williams, elections coordinator for the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Registration, two candidates qualified to run for the District 2 seat: Gail G. Remsen and Glenn E. Creech.

Also, William L. Bufford of Tignall qualified to run for supervisor of the Lincoln County Soil and Water Conservation District.

The special election will be held in conjunction with the 2006 General Election set for Tuesday, November
