The Lincolnton Police Department will hold a safe walking class on Thursday, August 31, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Library.

Bill Turner, a veteran law enforcement officer, is set to serve as the instructor for the class which will deal with ways to stay safe while walking for exercise.

There is no charge for the class.
