Franklin and Barbara Gould make trip to see America

Franklin and Barbara Gould went on a nine day trip visiting eleven states. The states they went through were Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana.

In Mississippi they visited Elvis Presley's birthplace. In Arkansas they toured the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. In Oklahoma they visited the Five Civilized Nations Museum in Muskogee (Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickadee and Shawnee). They also visited the Will Rogers Memorial and Museum in Claremore, Oka.

They then went to Kansas and visited the Chisholm Trail Museum in Wellington, Ks., then on to Medicine Lodge, Ks., the birthplace of Carrie Nation, a woman with nothing but a hatchet which she used to demolish and put an end to five saloons/bars. Next they went to Greensburg, Ks. and saw the most impressive World's Largest Hand Dug Well. They then went on to Dodge City and a visit to Boot Hill Cemetery and from there to Dalton Gang Hideout in Meade, Ks.

From Kansas they went to Colorado for a trolley tour of the city of Trinidad.

From Colorado they went to New Mexico for a visit to the Alien Museum in Roswell and a tour of the Carlsbad Caverns.

From there they got on I-20 in Texas, which took them through Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and back home again to Lincolnton.

This was a wonderful trip through our magnificent country America the beautiful!
