Franklin and Barbara Gould make trip to see America
     Franklin and Barbara Gould went on a nine day trip visiting eleven states. The states they went through were Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Louisiana.

Registration deadline for ACT testing is August 18
     The next ACT test will be administered September 16, 2006. Collegebound high school students who wish to take the exam must register by August 18 the deadline for having the registration postmarked. The late registration deadline postmark is August 25 with an extra fee charged for late registration.

     Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) will be at The Lincoln County Senior Center, 160 May Ave., from 11:15 a.m. 1:15 p.m. on Wed., Aug. 16 on a first-come, first-serve basis for seniors 60 years of age or older who have a noncriminal legal issue.

School revises quality point system to address state guidelines and equity
     In an attempt to align LCHS more closely with the standards used by the Georgia Department of Education, particularly in regard to the Hope Scholarship, the school's quality point system has been revised for incoming freshmen, according to LCHS Principal Becky Barden.
