Riordan arrested by Columbia Co. for solicitation

DAVID JOHN RIORDAN DAVID JOHN RIORDAN A Lincoln County man was arrested about 2 p.m. Friday, June 9, by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Columbia County Sheriff's Office for attempting to "seduce, lure, and entice a minor."

David John Riordan, 35, was arrested without incident by undercover investigators and charged with one count each of violation of computer pornography laws and violation of the Child Exploitation Act, according to Rick Whitaker, a major with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

The major said that a concerned citizen revealed that while she was on the Internet in a Yahoo chat room, an adult named "Dave" solicited someone whom he thought to be a juvenile female for sexual gratification.

The "surveillance take-down arrest" took place at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion.

As of press time, Riordan was incarcerated in the Columbia County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
