Vivian C. Carter

Vivian C. Carter, 57, of Worth County, entered into rest on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital in Augusta.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24 at KimbrellStern with Sam Hartline, minister and Rev. Mike Carter officiating. Interment followed in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native if Albany, Vivian had lived in Worth County for the last thirtyfive and one-half years. She previously worked with Keenan Auto Parts for ten years and with the Parks At Chehaw. She was a volunteer with Parks At Chehaw Education Department, with the Dougherty County Search and Rescue, with the Georgia State Park and Historic Sites, with the Worth County Emergency Service and various other agencies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Liston "Bud" Carter and Leila Smallwood Carter.

Survivors include her husband and partner of thirty-nine years, Vern Carter; her pet companions, Ember and Belle; her sister, Marie Welch and husband, Joe of Albany; two brothers, George Carter and wife, Nell of Macon and J.L. Carter of Worth County; nieces, Missy Welch of Albany and Cara Hill of Lee County; a nephew, Michael Carter of Nashville, Tenn.; a great-nephew, Keith Robinson; an uncle, Howard Carter and wife, Betty; and a host of friends in the Sylvester and Albany area and at Elijah Clark State Park in Lincolnton.

Memorials may be made to the Parks At Chehaw Education Fund or the Dougherty County Search and Rescue.

Kimbrell-Stern was in charge of arrangements.
