Organizers of the 16th Annual "River of Life," hosted by the Lincolnton United Methodist Church, are seeking paint, building materials, shingles, and/or financial donations.

The session is set for July 19-23.

This year, 120-plus young people and adults from different churches all over the state will travel to Lincolnton and volunteer their time and expertise to paint the exterior of homes, build wheelchair ramps and children's play sets, reshingle roofs, repair or build wooden porches, and clean up yards. The homeowners will not be charged for the work.

The volunteers pay a registration fee and provide the labor, while Lincolnton UMC and the community at large cover the cost of construction materials, lodging, all meals and snacks, and so forth.

Those who wish to support this worthwhile cause are asked to call Chuck or Leigh Beggs, session directors, at 706-359-2545; e-mail Beggses at www.cbeggs@nuz. net; or call the church office at 706-359-4339.

"If you can help support this project for Lincoln County with a financial donation or building materials, we would sincerely appreciate your generosity," said Mrs. Beggs. "It will help us to make a difference in the lives of so many needy homeowners in our community."

All donations are tax deductible.
