Donnell Harris (l) and Detravis Hearst, both students at LCHS, are genuine heroes. While on a church trip to Daytona Beach, the two helped apprehend a hand-cuffed shoplifter who had roughed up a police officer and was running for all he was worth. Marlin Martin and Martel Winfrey of Thomson were also part of the chase. Apparently, Donnell and Marlin, the smallest and fastest of the four, actually caught the man and tripped him, while Detravis and Martel, the two larger boys, held him down until police reinforcements arrived.
