It's that time of year again. I'm sure many of you will be glad when the purple pumpkins are put back in storage for another year, people stop shaking those tin cans in your face for donations or asking you to buy raffle tickets to help raise money for you guessed it .... Relay for Life..... May 12 and 13, 7 p.m. till 7 a.m. at Buddy Bufford Stadium.
Many special planned activities are going on the night of the relay. The Lincoln Co. Sheriff's Offices will be sponsoring a Jail and Bail. The Court House Crew will have a Dunking booth with many well deserving participants who have signed up for this activity to help us raise money. Some of those participants are as follows: Patty Arthur, Mrs. Nancy Jones, Benton Willis, Kenny Adair, Meg Berg, Roby Seymour, Jim Butler, Paul Rentz, Barbara Boddie, Coach Banks, Coach Shawn Davis, Rev Russell Davis, and Louis Robinson.
We will also be having a lot of entertainment going on during the walk itself. We will be entertained by several local talents such as Fancy Foot Work, Mrs. Barbara Boddie and Daughter, Renae Bolton, Renee Hall, The Cox Trio, First Assembly Choir, LCHS Band, Pastor Larry Doolittle and Church, Parks Grove Praise Team, First Baptist Church Mime Team, Faith Tabernacle Praise Team and The Tax Office Blues Band.
Everyone has to stay for the special Miss Relay for Life Pageant. So far we have had 12 entries to the womanless pageant. We have Miss Jasmine Dukes (aka Jasper Dukes), Miss Jimmy Faye Butler (aka Jimmy Butler), Miss Paris Hilton (aka Coach Roderick Hilton), Miss Ernestine Doss (aka Ernie Doss), Miss Paullina Rentz (aka Paul Rentz), Miss Bridgette Hogan (aka Bryon Hogan), Miss Judy Gibson (aka Jody Gibson), Miss Tina Turner (aka Clay Turner), Miss Rita Norman (aka Rico Norman), Miss Lashawn Davis (aka Shawn Davis), and Miss Lottie Walker (aka Walker Norman).
Come on out and join us for the fun and help us fight to find a cure.
