The LCMS/LCHS Red Devil Pride Concert Band, the LCMS/LCHS Jazz Band, and the LCMS Six and Seventh Grade Band will present their annual spring concert on Tuesday, May 2, at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

During the evening, the sixth and seventh-grade band will perform "Blues on Parade" and "Play It Cool," both arranged by Gerald Sebesky;

"Colonial March," arranged by John Kinyon; and "Kingsridge," arranged by Quincy Hilliard.

The members of the group are Marion Brittain, Caleb James, Keith Rickerson, Kia McKinney, Kyle Fox, Nelson Barksdale, D.J. Bentley, Zach Bentley, John Braden, Tristan Cullars, Wayneshia Gilchrist, Shuntravius Jennings, Brandon Roberts, Brandon O'Neill, Mason Saggus, Dekemus Zellars, Edward Boyd, Rozina Harris, Kaitlyn Helton, Sherne'A Jones, Sherrod Jones, Javequia Martin, Ashley Meaders, Martessia Murray, Kevin Sutherland, Travis Vaught, Timothy Brown, Elana Mansion, Tyrell Phelps, and Jetavius Marshall.

The concert band's program includes selections such as "Barnum and Bailey's Favorite," arranged by Jerry Brubaker; "Appalachian Suite," arranged by John Kinyon; "Celebration for Band," arranged by Robert Palmer and featuring Nathan Fields on the French horn, Donnell Harris on the alto saxophone, and Lee O'Neill and Scott Sutherland playing the mallets; and "Covington Square," arranged by James Swearingen, with a trumpet solo by Jazmon Dukes.

As for the jazz band, it will light up the festivities with the following tunes: "Heatwave," arranged by Peter Blair; "True Colors," arranged by John Berry; "Someone to Watch Over Me," arranged by Dave Wolpe; "Georgia on My Mind" and "In the Mood," both arranged by Michael Sweeney; and "How Sweet It Is," arranged by Mark Taylor.

Those performing solos with the jazz band are Jazmon Dukes, trumpet; Jennifer Herrick, alto saxophone; and vocalist JeRee Dukes.

In addition to those listed above, other musicians taking part in the band program at LCMS/LCHS are Shayna Blackmon, Sarah Fonseca, Brittney Calhoun, Coty Norman, Lizzie McKinney, Charles Jackson, Brandon Jenkins, Shondez Harrison, Keywanna Foston, Bianca Marshall, Syrithia McCladdie, Nicole Beard, Jeffery Brown, Shayman Hearst, Ceseley Henderson, Washat Ware, Erik Smith, Dontae Zellars, Chelsea Duncan, Carl Perrin, Jeremy Lattimer, Roger Elam, Joel Dukes, Tyeshia Crew, Ashia Crew, Amberly Barksdale, Patereia Heath, and Breauna Jenkins.

"These musicians have been working very hard to prepare for this concert," said Jasper Dukes, LCMS/ LCHS band director. "We hope the community will come out and join us for an evening of great music."

Admission is $3 at the door. Gold Cards will be accepted.
