Cases disposed of during April Term of superior court
The Lincoln County Superior Court heard criminal cases when the April Term of court convened Monday, April 17, at the courthouse, with Chief Judge Roger W. Dunaway, Jr. presiding.
The following cases were disposed of during the proceedings:
Robin Lynne Money and Tyrel Christopher Bratton pleaded guilty to one count each of Violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act (VGCSA) [misdemeanor possession of marijuana] and received 12 months probation, a $500 fine plus surcharges, 40 hours community service, and the drug package.
The drug package is a special condition of probation which provides for drug treatment and counseling as well as random testing. It also requires the defendant to submit to searches of his person and/or property upon request.
Eddie Dean Norman pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft by receiving and was sentenced to time served.
Joshua Whimbush pleaded guilty to VGCSA (possession of cocaine) and received five years probation, a $1,000 fine plus surcharges, and the drug package. He was further ordered by the judge to complete high school.
In addition, he was granted first offender status.
Bobby Dean Bradford and Cynthia Padgett each pleaded guilty to criminal trespass. They were both sentenced to time served.
Jamison Lee Booker pleaded guilty to two counts of VGCSA (sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute). On the first charge, he was sentenced to 12 years, five in confinement with the balance on probation; a $2,000 fine plus surcharges; and the drug package. On the possession charge, the defendant received 10 years, three in confinement with the balance on probation, to run concurrently with other sentencing, and a $1,500 fine plus surcharges.
Booker was further ordered to surrender his driver's license to the court.
Gerald Mickens pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to 12 years, seven in confinement with the balance on probation.
Also, two additional cases were disposed of during arraignments, held prior to the April Term of court. They were:
Benjamin Winston Lewis pleaded guilty to one count of VGCSA (possession of marijuana) and was sentenced to 12 months probation, a $500 fine plus surcharges, and 30 hours community service.
Kristen E. Estes pleaded guilty to one count of VGCSA (possession of cocaine with intent to distribute) and received eight years probation, a $1,500 fine plus surcharges, and the drug package.
The defendant was granted first offender status.
