LCHS Student Council to host Prom Promise Week
This year, the Lincoln County High School Student Council will host Prom Promise Week April 17 21. The purpose is to inform students of the problems associated with alcohol and drugs, especially on prom night, by asking them to sign pledges saying that he/she will stay alcohol and drug free on prom night.
Each day of Prom Promise Week will have a specific title that tells what each student should do or wear on that day. The days are as follows:
Monday "Block-Out Drugs and Alcohol"students will sign pledges at lunch and will receive colored sunscreen.
Tuesday "Anti-Pot Polka Dot" students are to wear polka dotted clothing, and at lunch, they can receive polka dots put on by body paint.
Wednesday "You Drink the Booze, You Get the Blues" students are to wear blue clothing.
Thursday "Ghost Day" The EMS will choose some students to "play dead" and represent the number of people that die due to alcoholrelated accidents. These selected students will be silent the whole day speaking only to fellow ghosts.
Friday "Get Crunk, Not Drunk" music will be played in between classes. In addition, during the week on the practice field there will be a golf cart course set up. Students can donate a dollar to the Mothers Against Drunk Driving and drive through it, but the driver will be required to wear beer goggles in order to simulate being drunk and operating a motorized vehicle.
Every Lincoln County High School student is encouraged to get involved during Prom Promise Week.
