Three businesses cited by state; Brown wanted for armed robbery
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is currently searching for Michael Lorenzo Brown, 17, in connection with charges of armed robbery. Three Lincolnton businesses were cited by the Georgia Department of Revenue for selling alcohol to persons under the age of 21, according to a report issued by the Lincoln County Sheriff's office.
The stores cited for the offense were Bell's Food Market, Fast Times Convenience Store, and the Sunrise Minit Market.
In response to numerous complaints in reference to local stores selling alcohol to minors, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the Lincolnton Police Department, and agents with the department of revenue attempted to make underage purchases of alcohol at all of the businesses in Lincoln County holding alcoholic beverage licenses. The operation took place Wednesday, March 22.
In other items in information, a spokesman for the sheriff's office indicated that the sheriff is currently seeking information on Michael Lorenzo Brown, a black male, 17 years of age, weighing approximately 160 pounds, and standing about 5'7" tall. He has been reportedly seen in a white Toyota Camry that was stolen.
A resident of Lincoln County, the subject is wanted by Richmond County authorities for armed robbery.

The sheriff's office is also investigating burglaries occurring at several lake homes in the county. Most recently, an unknown person(s) broke into a storage building and stole items that would be easily pawned and impossible to trace. Earlier in the day, a small, gray station wagon was seen in the vicinity of the crime.
Anyone with any information about these burglaries is urged to contact the sheriff's office and ask to speak with the investigator assigned to the case.
In an unrelated incident, the spokesman for the sheriff's office said, "We're still having a problem with individual(s) stealing small utility trailers in the county. Citizens are encouraged to secure their trailers in such as manner as to make stealing them difficult. The majority of times when items of this nature are stolen, the thief(s) has already sold the item prior to the theft."

In further news items, it was reported that Corey Deneil Grant, 32, of an Old Petersburg Road address was apprehended at a traffic stop. It was determined that there were outstanding warrants on Grant in Lincoln County for simple battery, terroristic threats and acts, and criminal damage to property, stemming from an altercation with the subject's girlfriend.
Moreover, a quantity of crack and powder cocaine was discovered in the vehicle in which Grant was a passenger. He was subsequently charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
The subject is currently being held in the Lincoln County Law Enforcement Center on a $110,000 bond.
Concerning other departmental activities, the road patrol division worked 12 accidents on county roads during the month of February and four accidents to date in March. The road patrol division likewise responded to several fires over the last two months, two of which were brush fires.
"One of the fires was set when someone illegally dumped some carpet on the side of Ebenezer Church Road and then attempted to burn it," said the spokesman for the sheriff's office. "The second fire was started when someone threw a cigarette into a pile of dry pine straw on Goldman Road."
