Mrs. Freda L. Bowles, 72, wife of J.D. Bowles of Clay Hill Road entered into rest on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at MCG in Augusta, Ga.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 19 at New Work Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Swann officiating.

Mrs. Bowles, a homemaker, was a native of Tazwell, Va. but had lived in Leesville, S.C. before moving to Lincolnton about eight years ago. She was a member of New Work Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the choir and W.O.M.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Smith and a grandchild, Christopher Bowles

Survivors include her husband, James D. "J.D." Bowles; two sons, J. Michael Bowles of Walterboro, S.C. and Robert W. Bowles of Lexington, S.C.; one daughter, Jo Ann Hamilton of Lexington, Va.; a sister, Edna Cochran, N. Taxwell of Virginia; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton, was in charge of arrangements.
