The rollicking musical, 1940's Radio Hour, is The Washington Little Theater Company's contribution to the events and festivities of the city's annual Tour of Homes. It will play Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m., March 30, 31, April 1, and Sunday afternoon, April 2, at 3 p.m. All performances will be at the Playhouse on North Alexander Avenue in Washington. Libby Foster is directing this WLTCo spring musical, with Nora Dukes acting as Music Director, and Ryan Dukes directing the professional eight-member jazz band.

Among the fifteen-plus songs are the instantly recognizable, popular hits from the American repertory of music known over the world- I'll Never Smile Again, Our Love Is Here to Stay, Ain't She Sweet? That Old Black Magic, How About You? Blue Moon, You Go to My Head, Blues in the Night-and such rousers as I Got a Gal from Kalamazoo, The 5 O'Clock Whistle, and The BoogieWoogie Bugle Boy of Company B.

"To those of us who grew up singing these songs, the evening is one long treat," says Director Foster. She pauses. "To those to whom these songs are completely unfamiliar and I suppose there are some like that- the evening is. . . one long treat." In addition to such veterans of the little theater stage as Billy Creel, Greg Colvard, Sarah Peacock, Tony Macchia, and Brian Baldwin, the cast features welcomed-back or new actors: Phil Rothman, Emmye Collins, Kenny Sifre, April Shelton, Bradley Barker, Nora Dukes, and Gordon Carver. "It's a great cast, and wonderful to work with," says Foster.
