Mary L. Wellmaker
Mrs. Mary Leigh Wellmaker, 83, of Lincolnton Road, entered into rest on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at Wills Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 3, at Hephzibah Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Danner officiating. Internment followed in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wellmaker was a homemaker, a member of Hephzibah Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Guy Wellmaker, Sr.; a daughter, Dianne W. Combs; and a son, Douglas Wellmaker.
Survivors include one son, William Guy Wellmaker, Jr. of Texas; one sister, Jeanie W. Martin of Lincolnton; five grandchildren, William Guy Wellmaker, III, Lisa Spears, Michelle McCarley, Franklin Combs, Jr., and Joyce Newberry; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a loving friend and companion, Thomas W. Chalker.
Pallbearers were Wayne Demuse, Wayne Epps, Jimmie Goldman, M.B. Hudson, Randy Ingram, Billy Joe Paradise, Billy Paradise, Edward Portwood, Forrest Spence, Ira Tiller, Ben Hill Wells and Ernie Wren.
