Evangelism rally to be held at Tignall Baptist Church
The Georgia Baptist Association is sponsoring their annual evangelism rally at Tignall Baptist Church on Thursday, March 16 at 6:30 p.m. Rev. Jim Olds, pastor of Bethesda Baptist Church, Union Point, is the evangelism chairman and Rev. Wade Palmer, pastor of Raytown Baptist Church, is on the evangelism committee.
The featured speaker for the event is Dr. Nelson Price, former pastor of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia. He pastored this church for 35 years during which time the church multiplied to 9,500 members. In 1990 he served as president of the Southern Baptist Convention Pastor's Conference. He served as president of the Georgia Baptist Convention from 1982 83. Also, in the past he served as first vice president of the Louisiana Baptist Convention and president of the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary Alumni Association with an academic chair named in his honor at the seminary. The Georgia Baptist Convention further honored him by naming a 42 bed drug rehabilitation center in his honor. Dr. Price also serves in the capacity of chairman of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes board of trustees.
Also on the program giving testimony will be Russ Tanner, former center for the Georgia Bulldogs football team in 2004 and 2005, who is active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
We will experience great singing from Destiny's Call beginning at 6:30 p.m. This group is a well known Christian singing group in our area sharing the gospel message in a way that appeals to people of all ages. Also, Penfield Christian Home men will be singing.
The public is invited to experience a wonderful night of worship, singing and preaching.
