Elijah Clark State Park is looking for photographs of the park taken anytime between now and 1953 when the park was dedicated. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Thurmond Lake will accept real Christmas trees for recycling Dec. 21 – Jan. 9. Christmas trees can be dropped off at Riverside Elementary School, located in Evans, Ga.

Abbeville merchants will host a Wine Walk Jan. 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. During this walk, samples of food and wine will be available at restaurants as well as some of the gift shops around the square and surrounding areas.
The purchase of a commemorative wine glass and map will allot you the freedom to taste wine and food at local businesses.
Advance tickets for the event are available at $10; day of the event cost for glass and map $15.

Wine Walk
Lincoln Young Miss 2006 Pageant will be held Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Eligible participants are kindergarten through 5th grade and must live in or attend school in Lincoln County or have a parent who works in Lincoln County.

The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce will host its 2005 Annual Banquet on Thurs., Jan 5, 7 p.m. at The Lincoln Center. 4-H activities
The Lincoln County Historical Society will meet January 5 at 7 pm at the Groves May House. Spring trip to Charleston, Pioneer Day Lessons Learned, Elijah Clarke Pageant in July and The One Room School House are among items to be discussed.
This meeting is the annual winter cover dish social so bring your favorite recipe and a big appetite. Members, guests and prospective members are invited to attend. There will not be a covered dish lunch on Wednesday the 4th.
Planning meeting
The Lincoln County Board of Tax Assessors regular meetings for 2006 will be: Jan. 17; Feb. 21; March 21; April 18; May 16; June 20; July 18; Aug. 15; Sept. 19; Oct. 17; Nov. 21; and Dec. 19.

The Augusta Red Cross is offering a Lifeguard Training Class on the following dates: Jan. 9, 11, 16 and 18 4:00 7:45 p.m.; and Jan. 10, 12, 13, 17, 19 and 20 4:00 6:45 p.m. Classes will be taught at the Fort Gordon Indoor Pool. Cost is $150.00.

Training classes
The American Red Cross is offering a Baby-sitter’s Training Class on Sat., Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. 4 p.m. at the Fort Gordon Youth Center. Participants must be 11 15 years of age. Cost is $25.
Participants will learn skills in basic care; safety and safe play; first aid and choking; leadership and professionalism.
