Mrs. Susie Mae Martin Edwards, 82, of Crawfordville, Ga., entered into rest Saturday, October 29, 2005 at her home.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 31 at Sandy Cross Baptist Church with Rev. O’Neil Martin officiating. Interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery.

Mrs. Edwards was a native of Lincoln County and had lived in the Sandy Cross Community for 62 years. She was the widow of Mr. L. A. “Shorty” Edwards and had worked at Royal Manufacturing Company until 1985. She was a member of Sandy Cross Baptist Church and was the daughter of the late James Thomas Martin and Maggie Banks Martin.

She was preceded in death by three brothers.

Survivors include her niece, Alice Thornton of Crawfordville; three sisters, Nannie Ruth Walton and Evelyn Goldman of Lincolnton and Lanette Drinkard of Washington, Ga.; greatnieces and nephews, Robert Thornton, Tracey Thornton Corns, Nicholas Corns, Brian Corns and Hayley Corns, who knew her as Nannie Susie Mae; and several other nieces and nephews.

Hopkins Funeral Home in Washington was in charge of arrangements.
