Amanda Gay, a ninth-grader at LCHS, has been selected to serve on the State School Superintendent’s Advisory Council. Over 400 students across the state applied for a seat on the council, but only 52 were chosen for the honor. Council members will meet with Superintendent Kathy Cox four times a year to discuss how decisions made at the state level are affecting students in Georgia’s schools; they will also serve as liaisons between students and the Georgia Department of Education.
