Chamber Chatter
Chamber, Chamber, Chamber ……………..a name you probably hear very often and it is an active organization within the community. The Chamber of Commerce is about business, it’s about community growth, tourism, and leadership.
The Chamber of Commerce is wrapping up its 2005-06 membership drive and will soon begin prepping the 2006 Membership Business Directory, which will be ready for distribution at the 2005 Annual Banquet on January 5th. Anyone that has not joined or renewed their membership will not be included in this important publication. It is one of the first books that a newcomer, a potential community investor or customer sees about Lincolnton-Lincoln County. So, if you have an interest to be a part of the bigger picture and support your business by supporting your community, stop by the Welcome Center and become a member of the Chamber of Commerce.
There is a lot going on now with the chamber. Among the list of activities for the remainder of the year there is always room for volunteers with fresh, new, and exciting ideas. Holidays In Olde Lincoln Towne is the biggest festival our community hosts and it takes manpower to make it happen, so call the chamber if you’re interested in helping.
The Board of Directors are now taking director nominations for the 2006 year. The membership has been contacted requesting nominations, which are due by Friday, October 14th. Anyone that is interested in serving on the board, is urged to contact Amberly Bentley, president, to find out what’s involved. The chamber is about the community and the people who live here. We are a diverse community, therefore, the Chamber Board of Directors require diverse leadership willing to take on the interests of the business community.
