Qualifying for three seats on the Lincolnton City Council was held Tuesday, September 13, through Friday, September 16, at City Hall.

The four-year terms of Mayor Dwaine Biggerstaff, Post 4 Councilman Henry Brown, and Post 5 Councilman Larry Goolsby will expire December 31, 2005.

According to City Clerk Kay Remsen, Mayor Biggerstaff and Councilman Brown were the only candidates to qualify for their respective positions.

Guil Mattison was the lone candidate to qualify for the remaining council seat.

Since all three candidates are running unopposed, there will be no municipal election this year, said the city clerk.
