Beautiful county
TO THE EDITOR
Some time ago I had an occasion to visit your beautiful county. I was a guest of Commission Chairman Walker Norman. I am retired from the U.S. Army and have served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
I have traveled over much of this Earth during my career and have seen some beautiful places. I must say I was very impressed with Lincolnton and Lincoln County, especially with the hospitality shown to me by all of the people I came in contact with.
If it was not for my ties to my home here in Monroe, Louisiana, I would be tempted to move to your beautiful county. I hope the people of Lincoln County realize and appreciate the beautiful place they live.
Thank you very much for your hospitality and I look forward to visiting with you all again.

TO THE EDITOR: Promoting safety The Pilot Club of Washington would like to thank the businesses and individuals for supporting the drive to promote safety over the Labor Day weekend by purchasing spots on the radio station WLOV. We feel that we reached many people that way. We just want to remind people to slow down and use good judgement when decisions have to be made quickly and to always be careful.
