Dontressa L. Murray and Lawrence Elam, Jr. are proud to announce their engagement.

Dontressa is the daughter of Ms. Mary F. Murray and Mr. Jesse L. Murray, both of Lincolnton. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roy Murray and the late John A. Barksdale and Ms. Georgia Me Banks. She is a graduate of Lincoln County High School and Greenville Technical College in Evans, Georgia. She is currently employed at Brandon Wilde in Evans, as a nurse.

Lawrence is the son of Lawrence Elam, Sr. and the late Mary Delores Elam of Lincolnton. He is the grandson of John B. Elam, the late Mandy Elam and the late Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Searles, Sr. He is a graduate of Lincoln County High School. He is the owner of L & T LawnCare and is currently employed by Elam Trucking.

The wedding is planned for 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Lower Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lincolnton.
