Qualifying for three seats on the Lincolnton City Council will be held Tuesday, September 13, through Friday, September 16, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at City Hall.

The four-year terms of Mayor Dwaine Biggerstaff, Post 4 Councilman Henry Brown, and Post 5 Councilman Larry Goolsby will expire December 31, 2005.

During the week of qualifying, potential candidates may file a Notice of Candidacy to have their names placed on the Municipal General Election Ballot.

For write-in candidates, Friday, September 23, is the deadline for filing and publishing a notice of intention to run as a write-in candidate.

The General Election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8. Voting for city residents takes place at The Lincoln Center.

The last day to register to vote in the election is Tuesday, October 11.
