senior citizen 60 years of age or older and have a non-criminal legal issue, a staff person from GLSP will be in Lincoln County to meet with you at the Lincoln County Senior Center, 160 May Avenue, 9 11 a.m. on Tues., Aug. 23.

Season tickets

The Lincoln County Health Department will have the University Hospital Breast Health Center Mobile Mammography Unit visit Aug. 30, Oct. 7 and Nov. 22.

Anyone interested in having a mammogram done, please telephone the Lincoln County Health Department at 359-3154 to schedule an appointment.

Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance will pay for a screening mammogram. This mobile unit is accredited by The American College of Radiology and certified by The Food and Drug Administration.

Reserved seats for the 2005 Red Devil football season will be on sale at the high school office beginning Mon., Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. 3 p.m. If you have purchased season tickets in the past, your seats will be held until Wed., Aug. 17 at which time they will be offered to those on the waiting list. Please contact Nancy Hardeman at the school.

If you do not plan to purchase your seat this year, please let Nancy know. The cost is $40 for the season.

The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 194 will meet Thurs., Aug. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Please bring your donations of salad dressing, vinegar and mayonnaise for the food pantry.

The 85th Annual Walker Family Reunion for the descendants of Daniel Lumpkin Walker will be held at Fishing Creek Baptist Church on Sun., Aug. 21 at 1 p.m.

The annual reunion of the Freeland family descendants of James Manning Corey and Caroline Augusta Butler Freeland will be held on Aug. 14 at Plum Branch Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 12:15. Please bring a picnic lunch and tea.

The Tenth Annual John de la Howe School Open Golf Tournament will be held at Savannah Lakes Village’s Monticello Championship Golf Course on Sat., Aug. 27, in McCormick. The registration fee is $60 per player and includes greens fee, cart rental and meal following play. Play is limited to 30 four-man teams.

Loco Baptist Church will hold Homecoming Services Sept. 11 with Rev. Kenneth Jones. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m. and worship service begins at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow the worship service.

The American Legion Post 194 will host a dance on Saturday, September 17 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The DJ for the evening will be “Just Ben”, who performed at the post in July. Come on out and enjoy the good fellowship and fun.
